Power Roles

This piece is one of a pair. I found a porcelain married couple (Georgian style) in my usual charity shop that i gather materials. I purchased the two and continued with my recent beheading activities. This is the second piece i completed, and is probably my favourite.

Once again i had to use the dreaded material of glue to attach the two parts. The rest of the sculpture was simply edited with a hammer and sanding.

Mobile Shade

Following the concept of "Beheading" I created this hybrid of lampshade and umbrella. It was a simple sculpture to construct but i came across many complications, particularly with the glue...i don't like glue. Nevertheless i think its turned out pretty nicely. I love the traditional, domestic colours, i struck lucky with the materials i found.

Leaky Head

This term I've been looking at the concept of beheading,  attempting to use this interaction to create metaphorical and conceptual meanings. This is one of my larger sculptures employing the technique. Using drills, polyfiller and a hammer i chipped away the original head from the busts shoulders and replaced it with this domestic tap.

Tea-Time

Before beginning the winter project last year, we were asked to pick an area of study for the remainder of the term . These areas included: Sculpture, New media, Painting and Print. I decided to try out the sculpture project and eventually began making work using the concept of "Bricolage", A method of sculpture that uses the existing object to make a new entity or context. This is one of my 20 sculptures, named "Tea Time".

Child

Another one of my acrylic painting from my summer project last year, this ones a favourite of mine, why i don't know. I think its the composition. I also feel it fits the projects theme, "The Unfamiliar".

Obesity

Another portrait i completed in the summer months of 2011, following the theme of "The Unfamiliar". Like my last painting that i posted, this one was conducted using acrylics and on canvas pad.

Portrait.

A painting i did for my summer project, the theme being "The Unfamiliar". I created the piece using acrylic paints on a canvas pad.
